The idea.
The MOF is organizing a first of its kind event in Missoula this summer. We are bringing together Montana’s, outdoor retailers, manufacturers, overlanding enthusiasts, guide services, mountain bikers, fly shops, outfitters, summer and winter sports enthusiasts, non-profits and government land managers and public land owners from around the country to showcase the wide range of things you can do across Montana. At our “basecamp”, guests will have the opportunity to take classes from world class outdoor recreation professionals on a wide range of topics, intended to build skills and confidence as people head out to explore the front ranges and backcountry of Montana.

The plan.
This event will draw outdoor industry manufacturers, retailers, outfitters and conservation groups from Montana and across the United States. Their booths and displays will be set up in our exhibitor area where attendees will be able to check out the latest product offerings and interact directly with brand representatives. We anticipate connections will be made at the organizational level, with conservation groups and businesses getting to know each other in a more impactful way. They’ll leave the event with new relationships and opportunities to expand their collective reach.
A basecamp wouldn’t be complete without a place for people to set up their own tents and adventure vehicles to camp, so we will have a dedicated area that is separate from the rest of the show spaces for them to enjoy time with their families and new Big Sky friends.

In addition to the vendor area, there will be spaces for Outdoor Learning Labs facilitated by exhibitors, kayak and rafting outfitters, Montana- based professional mountain bikers, backcountry guides, pack trip outfitters and other Montana groups that support public lands. This is intended to be a Montana event, showcasing the best recreation opportunities and organizations the state has to offer as well as give people the background and skills on where to go on their next adventure.
For companies and organizations that are looking to have a higher profile at Basecamp Montana, we have sponsorship opportunities, named for some the best Missoula area rivers. They extend from presenting sponsor of the entire event to contributing sponsor of event segments. We can even tailor a sponsorship level that fits a companies marketing budget and needs. Let’s talk!

The opportunities.
There are a large number of exhibitor booth spaces available at prices far below those of other outdoor recreation events around the country. We are so excited to bring companies to Montana and have them as part of this event that we are working to keep prices low. We know that marketing budgets are always tight, so we want to make it easy for companies (either for-profit or non-profit) to attend, give them a generous footprint for their booth set up and provide them with as much brand exposure as possible on-site and in all event marketing materials.
This is a Montana event that is designed to grow, scale and continue on for years into the future. We are looking for partners not only in the outdoor recreation industry, but also in the Montana non-profit and business communities that want to be part of the successful growth of RecCon Montana. This event is intended to capture the imaginations of anyone and everyone that has a love of the outdoors and show them the spectacular recreation opportunities the Great State of Montana has to offer. Sound interesting to you?

The location.
Nestled in the Northern Rockies of Montana, surrounded by seven wilderness areas and at the confluence of three rivers, Missoula is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream. You can kayak, raft or tube through downtown or take a relaxing hike in 60,000 acres of wilderness minutes from your hotel. Missoula is known for its blue-ribbon trout fishing (made famous by A River Runs Through It) and spectacular natural beauty. The outdoor recreational opportunities are limitless.
Fort Missoula was established by the United States Army in 1877 as an outpost to protect settlers as the Montana Territory pursued statehood. Fort Missoula Regional Park has become a premier athletic venue, and hosts numerous events throughout the spring, summer and fall.
